Repairs, replacements and seasonal upkeep for the systems that keep a West Michigan house comfortable from January lows to July humidity.
October to April
Most West Michigan homes run on a gas furnace, and most furnace failures come down to a short list of parts: igniters, flame sensors, inducer motors and control boards. Our vans carry them, so the first visit is usually the last.
When a repair stops making sense, we show you the math. Replacements are sized with a room-by-room load calculation, not the tonnage on the old unit's label.
May to September
An oversized air conditioner feels clammy. It chills the air fast and shuts off before it pulls the moisture out, which is the last thing you want in a humid lakeshore July.
We size equipment to remove both heat and humidity, then balance the ductwork so every floor gets its share of the airflow.
Year-round
Winter air in a closed-up house drops to single-digit humidity: static shocks, cracked woodwork, dry sinuses. Summer flips it, and finished basements start to smell like basements.
We measure first, then recommend the smallest fix that solves the problem, whether that is a better filter or a whole-home humidifier.
Spring and fall
A tune-up should be a checklist you can read, not a quick look and an invoice. Ours covers combustion, electrical, airflow and safety, and you get the results in writing with photos.
Plan members get both seasonal visits, priority scheduling when the weather turns, and no after-hours charge on emergency calls.

The questions we hear most on the phone. Don't see yours? Call us.
Most furnace repairs we see fall between $150 and $650, depending on the part. The diagnostic visit is $89 and is credited toward the repair if you go ahead. You get a flat price before we start.
Yes. Emergency heating and cooling service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Maintenance plan members pay no after-hours charge.
If the furnace is under 12 years old and the repair costs less than a third of a replacement, repair usually makes sense. Past 15 years, or with a cracked heat exchanger, replacement is usually the better spend. We'll show you both numbers.
Standard 1-inch filters every one to three months; 4- or 5-inch media filters every six to twelve months. Homes with pets or ongoing renovation should check more often.
It depends on insulation, windows, orientation and air leakage, not just square footage. We run a room-by-room load calculation before quoting, so the system matches your house rather than the old unit.
Yes. When a new system qualifies for a utility or manufacturer rebate, we tell you up front and file the paperwork for you.
Describe what the system is doing and we'll tell you what it probably is, what it should cost, and when we can be there.
